When you are planning your budget for your business stationary you will need to balance cost and quality carefully. Businesses of all sizes may find it difficult allocating large funds towards business stationary and so will be on the look out for cheap printing services and good deals. However it is also important that your business stationary is professional and eye-catching and so the quality of the printing is also an important issue.
Balancing cost and quality is a difficult task and you will need to do your research to ensure that you can meet the demands of both your budget and your business stationary needs.
Recommendations
Once you have submitted your design to your printers you will not really know how it will turn out until you receive the finished product. This is why it is important to request samples of previous work and ask for recommendations, as this will help you determine whether or not the finished product will be to the standard you require. Samples provide you with a way to check the quality of the finish print and help you to understand which materials and print techniques will be suitable for both your budget and your business requirements.
Capacity
You do need to check with the printer before you place your order whether they can meet the capacity of printing you are requesting. This is particularly important for large, bulk mail outs and stationary which will need ongoing re-prints. You may get some good discounts for bulk and re-print orders as this will bring a lot of work to the printer you are using.
Turnaround Time
You can save money by ordering your business stationary well in advance. You will pay more in most cases if you need your printing job turned around quickly, so it is best to allow plenty of time.
Materials
Print material can have a significant impact on the quality and costs of your order. By opting for standard print inks and papers (such as 130gsm) you can save money as the printer can include your job as part of a larger bulk print-run. If you want unusual materials or finishes then the printer may have to run your print as a bespoke order and this will cost much more.
When you are ordering your business stationary you do need to consider a number of factors which can affect the cost and quality of the job. By researching the various materials and print techniques available you can save money and still ensure that the quality of your printing is to your requirements.

What is the best type of printer to buy for printing business cards, stationary and letterheads. It would be for commercial use. Also would anyone be able to reccomend pay per print programmes which i can go to??
Me and a group of friends are setting up a stationary business at university and struggling to decide on a name.
I was thinking something related to stationary like the existing ‘Staples’, so like pen rules but obviously that is rubbish
Any ideas?
I’m still in my teens and still at school. Next year I’ll finish my exams mid-June and as well as getting a summer job, I was thinking of starting up a wedding card business to supplement my income. It would be fun and a learning curve, I love crafts and am good at deadlines. Thing is, I have no idea where to start. I have given myself a year to sort of prepare – I would be too busy this year with exams anyway.
Any craftspeople out there for inspiration? Or keen businesspeople?

my needs. I use many kinds of media 80lb cardstock, labels, and greeting card papers including photo paper. I am looking for speed, sharp images and versitility for size of papers feeding through. I currently have a Canon ip 4600 photo printer , that does a nice job printing , but the volume I am doing now is too much for this little printer. So laser printer way to go ?? Where is best place to shop Thank you.

I’m wanting to start a wedding stationary (or can include other types of event stationary) business for the wedding season. I’m thinking of calling it & We. I really liked the name Needle and Bread but that doesn’t really fit in with my idea. What do you think of the name and what should my next steps be?

I have a project due – design some business stationary, keeping in mind what possible problems a designer might run into with the client about design and functionality of the letter and format of the graphics. I’d really appreciate it if you could share your experiences and ideas! Thank you

I need a program that I can type in the information and print off 200-300 at a time. The labels we are using are pin fed, about 3″ x 5″, and we are using an Epson LX300 dot matrix printer. It also needs to be windows compatible, preferably with Windows 98 or XP.
Thanks

I’ve started combining pictures with text on Word documents. The inkjet printer seems to give good results but I’m wondering if a laser printer would give better. Does paper quality significantly affect the outcome? If so, what type of paper is best? How does laser compare with inkjet cost-wise and what laser printers are the best buy in terms of reliability and cost of operation?

Looking for a 3-1 or 4-1 laser printer. But I’m wondering if I can get one that also prints digital photos?
