The internet as a medium for business owners

Business owners of companies both large and small can achieve rich improvements in their operations if they start to ask themselves regularly, “I have just been handed a powerful new tool. It essentially lets me costless communicate with anyone on the planet. How can I best use it to my advantage?”, you may ask. Well to focus, business owners must first ask themselves two questions: As a business owner, what am I trying to achieve? Marry your answers to the diverse communications capabilities of the World Wide Web; you will inevitably create some powerful and highly beneficial new initiatives.

In exploring strategies for success in the developing environment, it is essential to recognize a fact that is often overlooked: The Internet is fundamentally a new communications vehicle. As a consequence, a large part of its value arises because it permits cost-effective communications, whether it is down the street or on a worldwide basis, that were not possible before its emergence. This focus is easy to appreciate as the typical person is more interested in the new offerings on the Web that can entertain him or her than the less exciting details of enhanced communications capabilities.

In addition, Internet use is the first activity in over forty years that has been clearly documented as something that causes people to spend less time watching television. It’s therefore natural to think of it as a substitute for this medium.

  1. And freedom of speech is absolutely oppressed, subdued and filtered in your corporate owned media, there is much more our media can tell you but doesn’t. You will never see anything anti-corporate or against the corporate government relationship. They will never make known to the public what many protesters are going on about with WTO and globalization by going into detail of what the complaints are– besides just making them all seem like weirdo liberals– even though they compromise various different people who you wouldn’t think come together, Family farmers, environmentalists, small business owners, traditional conservatives, and labor union workers.

If it weren’t for the internet, there wouldn’t seem much public participation or opinion in anything. But even this may have a time limit.

  3. Ohh man, living conditions are not that good as someone may think.
Even having a college degree won’t really help U find a decent job. Country has got so corrupted, especially in a last few years…
If U don’t know “somebody, who knows somebody…” and if your dad or uncle or e.t.c. is not a rich businessman, U absolutely have no chances to find a good job! Overwise you’ll be working for a couple hundred bucks a month just wasting time. And living expenses are the same or even more compared to US. Only cigarettes & utilities are cheaper.
Wages are higher in Moscow & St.Petersburg (for legal residents only), but living is more expensive there too; plus U need “hard to get” registration papers to live and work there.
U wanna know why would someone want to leave and come to the USA?
Main reasons are Freedom and $$$ !!! Democracy here is fake (believe me), country has a political regime like North Korea or China or Iran. No freedom of speech, human rights violations, coloured people and minorities get discriminated, no justice, no free elections, citizens are forced to vote for a major party… Youngbucks are trying to copy western lifestyle, but russia has its own unique culture.
Almost all media, internet and TV is censored by government and FSB (ex KGB). Propaganda on every news channel.
I have been living in US for 6 years and had to come back home 2 years ago. All I said above is what I see now. I was a russian patriot when I was overseas, but I started loosing it after comeback.
So if U don’t have a rich daddy or U’re not a successfull business owner, then life in russia sucks.
Everything is kinda messed up over here!
Well, I said too much already… I’m scared now.
I don’t wanna get tortured by KGB guys next day.

    What’s the Russia’s future?

  9. so hes with a domain registrar – and he has an account with that registrar, and a control panel in which he manages a lot of his clients domains.

Why does he buy them for people ?

most of his clients run small-medium sized businesses and have no knowledge whatsoever about websites, internet, etc – so he builds them their websites so to speak – aye, hes a webdesigner.

so, this web-designer did just that – he brought my domain for me and brought hosting as well from the same registrar and uploaded my website pages under the domain he brought for me.

yesterday i took my site down as the scope of my business has changed drasticaly – but I still want my old domain.

Both he and I are confused as to how to give the domain to me.

I have registered with HostGator now – but have nothing with them. What I want to know is this:

    a) can he move/transfer away the domain from his control panel and give it to me, so i can control and manage it at HostGator ?

    b) if I can do the above – how do we go about it ?

    c) the domain is with him but hes registered it under my name, my address, used my contact email on that domain and my company name and company number.

something called an authorisation code is involved here and an IPS tag.

explain to me who has to

    a) initiate the transfer – me (the recipient of the domain) or him (the current owner/controller of the domain)

    b) how is it initiated – is it him who requests this auth code and changes the IPS tag or me ?

    c) what do I, the ‘recipient/gainer’ have to do in this domain moving process ?

i need the domain by the 27th otherwise i’ll if he doesn’t give me that .com domain by that time I have made him sign a contract that he owes me £2500.

others have told me I have no right whatsoever to threaten him for that sum of money – but surely I do have that right ?

also somebody told me its impossible for a .com domain to be moved from one registrar to another in under 7 working days – if thats the case, isn’t that kind of pathetic in this day and age ?

  13. The press plays a vital role in our democracy, shaping citizens’ understanding of social and political issues and functioning as gatekeepers through which issues, people, and events must pass. No matter what you care about — gun rights or abortion rights, the environment or economics — the media influence the perceptions of citizens and policymakers, affecting the policies that touch us all. Media must not be considered just another business: they are special institutions in our society. Information is the lifeblood of democracy — and when viewpoints are cut off and ideas cannot find an outlet, our democracy suffers.

Traditional media, telecommunications and cable are converging, all becoming firmly linked to the Internet. The ways we share information, the ways we receive information, and the ways this information is produced are all changing rapidly. In the halls of power — from corporate boardrooms to the corridors of the Capitol — policies are being rewritten to prepare for this new era.

Big Media, Big Cable and Big Telecom are some of the strongest and fiercest lobbies in Washington, and, indeed, across the country. One of the most profitable industries and one on which politicians depend to make their views heard, it is difficult to battle such clout. Media outlets unwilling to report on their parent company’s interests and broader issues of media reform put more obstacles in the way of public interest advocates.

BIG MEDIA has a huge effect on who wins presidential primaries. the major television news outlets are viewed by most americans, which gives them the power to manipulate the masses’ opinions on candidates that would help them by relaxing laws on media ownership. They also have the power to essentially blacklist candidates who would be a threat to them by passing new laws that would be more in line with the constitution. So you can see how a candidate that values the constitution would be a major threat to them.

if Dr. Ron Paul got the amount of attention that Obama, hilary, edwards, romney, mccain & guiliani get, i am sure that he would win the election by an enormous number of votes. If the average american knew who he was, and what he is all about, he would be a huge threat to hillary’s presidential campaign. Ron paul is EXTREMELY popular among the people that know who he is because he truly represents the american people, not the establishment. Ron Paul has a voting record in congress that demonstrates that he will not be pushed into voting for any unconstitutional legislation, such as the patriot act, or the real id act, or the torture bill. He is 1 of only 6 republicans that voted against the war. Ron Paul has also been named “the taxpayers best friend.”

Many web sites and forums have had to shut down, due to the overwhelming number of people writing messages of support for Ron Paul. a MySpace page titled “Opinion Polling” posted the following note this week: “Temporarily shut down due to Ron Paul. will be back eventually.” A source said that the page’s owners shut it down because Paul supporters “invaded the place.”

here is a website called techPresident.com that has an ongoing internet poll displayed on it.
    http://techpresident.com/scrape_plot/myspace

the poll shows that Ron Paul is the top republican candidate among internet users.
Yet, the big media companies IGNORE Ron Paul on their 24 hour news networks. Every other story is about which celebrity is endorsing barak obama, or what color dress Hillary wore last week at a fundraiser. How did this happen? WHat can be done about it? i am thinking maybe the fairness doctrine should be applied to the big cable news networks, even though i am a libertan.

here is an article (which i used some quotes from) that explains this further:
    ————————–

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, who has explored a presidential run, doesn’t register very high in the national polls featuring 2008 presidential candidates (1 percent, tops). But there’s one place that he simply rules: the Internet.

Fans of the libertarian have stormed the Web — in ways both good and bad — to show their support. Over at TechPresident.com — a Web site that tracks candidates’ “friends” on the popular social networking site MySpace.com — Paul is tops for Republicans, with 3,107 “friends” (Mitt Romney is second with 1,785).

But elsewhere, the voraciousness of Paul’s supporters has sparked the ire of others. The Web site 2008HorseRace.com, which features an ongoing poll for candidates, issued this notice on Feb. 23: “Ron Paul has been suspended for two weeks because of repeated use of mob intimidation tactics and multiple threats made by Ron Paul supporters against racetrack operators, racetrack officials and racetrack sponsors.” PajamasMedia.com removed Ron Paul from its presidential polls after it was discovered that someone had rigged the poll system in his favor. 14. Hi. My name is Pragna and I am a research assistant at an I/O psychology lab in Rutgers University. We are studying Katrina’s effect on small businesses in New Orleans. We are looking for business owners with a story to tell (the obstacles your business faced). If you would be willing to lend us this priceless insight please contact me at pragna@eden.rutgers.edu. ***TO ALL*** we are also trying to get as much frontline information as we can on what medium of communication (Phone, cell phone, internet, sat. phone, texting) those who stayed in the area during the hurricane were and were not able to utilize.

  16. so hes with a domain registrar – and he has an account with that registrar, and a control panel in which he manages a lot of his clients domains.

It has since implemented a rule that it will only include candidates polling at 1 percent or more in credible national news polls.

And a MySpace page titled “Opinion Polling” posted the following note this week: “Temporarily shut down due to Ron Paul will be back eventually.” A source said that the page’s owners shut it down because Paul supporters “invaded the place.”

Paul’s exploratory committee spokesman Kent Snyder thinks he knows why Paul’s supporters are so gung-ho for their guy. “One of the reasons that Dr. Paul is getting a lot of cyber support is because he voted against regulating the Internet,” Snyder told Yeas & Nays.

  22. When asking Western school children about the significance of Waterloo, the answer will be something along the lines of ‘the decisive battle between Napoleon and an English lead European coalition’. In fact, the future of the European continent was perceived to depend upon the battle of Waterloo. If Napoleon won, France would have been confirmed as the undisputed master of Europe. If Napoleon was beaten, England would have become the leading power in Europe and greatly expand its sphere of influence.
What Western school children are not taught – for obvious reasons – is the much bigger story behind the official narrative, the story of one of the biggest frauds in human history. Nathan Rothschild, the head of the English branch of the Rothschild crime family, took advantage of his advance knowledge of the outcome of the battle by tricking the London Stock Exchange into believing that Napoleon had won. The resulting crash of the Exchange enabled Nathan Rothschild’s agents to buy the entire London stock market for a Penny in the Pound and seize control of the Bank of England.

This shameless fraud was ruthlessly repeated in 1929. The private owners of the U.S. Federal Reserve, Rothschild subsidiaries J.P. Morgan, City Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank were awash with money earned by financing World War I. Using their market power, Rothschild’s agents first engineered an artificial boom in the stock market, tricking smaller banks and private investors into putting huge amounts of money into the stock market and then deliberately crashed it, enabling the Rothschild agents to buy most of the U.S. stock market. The ripple effect of the New York crash also enabled Rothschild agents in other countries, such as Germany, to buy local corporations at a fraction of their actual value.

Eighty years later, it looks like our ruling psychopaths are at it again. They are systematically destroying trust in the U.S. dollar, causing holders of large amounts of green bags to sell them. At the same time, the Rothschild’s are preventing the European Central Bank from printing sufficient Euros for U.S. Dollar owners to exchange all of their holdings into Euros. That way Dollar owners are forced to buy gold instead, causing the gold price to explode.

Simultaneously, the Rothschild’s are using their influence on the media sector to spread rumours of an imminent crash of the U.S. Dollar and international stock markets. As per usual, in the day and age of infowar, those rumours first started in the alternative Internet based media, only to spread into the mainstream business media. Last week’s ‘global stock and credit market warning’ of the Rothschild owned Royal Bank of Scotland means that the next Waterloo must be imminent.

All it takes is a trigger such as a thwarted Israeli attack on Iran or the blocking of the Persian Gulf for oil transports, followed by a major stock sell-off by Rothschild agents. Once the world’s stock and credit markets have completely crashed, the price of an ounce of gold will be in the thousands, enabling the Rothschild’s and other owners of large gold holdings to buy the market for a fraction of their true value

  30. Okay, im asking for a job, a shot to make you and myself money, this may well be a stab in the dark but read on…
okay, i fully believe, that i have the potential and initiative to shine brighter than any degree holder you or your business employ, this may sound ignorant, most likely because it is, but here is a little background.
16 year old, left high school, live in small town, but most major citys in the north are easily accessible. i genuinely think that given a year, i could make you more money than most your employees, easy, no matter what field of work. with a little guidance i will shine its all i need, a shot.

obviously most of you will click the back button and find something else, but please, do get in touch, you never know it might be the best decision you ever make!

Plus, soon as the media caught wind that some kid asked for a job over the internet and got offered one it would make the headlines no doubt 😉

    Regards

  31. This question is obviously a burning question in everyone’s mind, since the there is so much chatter about it.

But the fact is, that too many people believe what they read on line without doing any real digging.

The hype with the money making aspect associated with the application has actually overshadowed the application itself, and I think it’s a shame.

As a marketing and internet consultant for the past 6 years, I can tell you that the Chat-To-Text applications for a small business owner is great.

For instance, I am the marketing consultant for Danley Electrical, a small business in South River NJ. Because he did not have a full time person answering phones, we also gave the potential customer to chat with Walt by placing the “Chat-To-Text” link on his web site.

Now he can be on the road and working with his crew, but also be in contact with potential customers. Instant contact through a communication medium the customer is comfortable with.

You can see this in action at http://www.danley911.com and click on the image “text my phone”.

And yes, they were removed from facebook back in February because of an issue that was resolved and now are back on.

So it’s not a scam, I know because if you look up my facebook page and request to be my friend, I will grant the request and you will see the link on my profile.

Lots of young people out there and or people who don’t understand internet marketing saying chat to text is a scam and posting things they really don’t understand.

    Obviously misguided, no offense.

If you would like more information, just email me at psloop@pktrades.com

    DEAR SIR,

RE: TRANSFER OF 5,000,000.00 {MILLION POUNDS} to your account. I feel quite safe dealing with you in this important business.Though, this medium (Internet) has been greatly abused, I choose to reach you through it because it still remains the fastest medium of communication. However, this correspondence is
unofficial and private, and it should be treated as such.At first I will like to assure you that this transaction is 100% risk and trouble free to both parties.

In order to transfer out { FIVE MILLION POUNDS} from our bank here in London. The fund for transfer is of clean origin. The owner of this account is A FOREIGNER, a program leader who was believed to acquire the fund through his secret Crude Oil deal with the Former IRAQI
Government. The deceased died with all the members of his family in an auto-accident in JUNE 23, 1999 without a WILL. The amount involved is [5,000,000.00 POUNDS]

I want to transfer this money into a safe foreign account abroad but I don’t know any foreigner whom I can trust, I know that this message will come to you as a surprise since we don’t know ourselves before, but be sure that it is REAL AND A GENUINE BUSINESS. I contact you believing that you will not let me dawn once the fund goes into your account.
