  2. Home is in Oregon. I am renting in California. Want to keep the house for my parents to use. Dont have time to travel to Oregon to refinance there.

  3. Lets say in a 3 year period? I know I have enough equity in the home and just wondered if someone knew. Thanks!
The main reason for my question is I refinanced last year. My mortgage was then purchased by another lender and the new lender is THE WORST in service. I want to get away from them but was not sure how. I could not stop my loan from being bot/sold but wish I could have.

  4. I am interested in refinancing my home mortgage. My mortgage lender has a number of local mortgage offices as well as a national call center through which I could proceed with the refinancing.

Is it likely that there would be a significant difference in fees, rates, etc., when using their national call center versus their local offices? Would it be wise for me to get a good faith estimate from both and then make a decision?

  5. since alot of ppl is giving up their house, then wouldn’t it be easier to refinance home mortgage???

  8. My current mortgage is through Wells Fargo. We have a local office in the town I live in but would I get lower interest rates by going to a bank and letting them sell my mortgage if they want or if I went directly to them?

  9. Hi, I bought my house in 2006 for $450k with no down. Interest rate for the first loan (80%) is 6.5% and I got the 2nd loan with 9.5%. Now the estimated home value is ~$400k. I know the interest rates these days are less than 5.5%. Can I get a refinance?

  10. I have owned my home for approximately 7 years now. I am interested in refinancing but am not sure how the process works. My home needs major repairs and a possible addition to it. I have heard of refinancing with cash back but have no clue as to how that works. I would also not want my current mortgage payment to go any higher…can anyone help?

  11. Current rate of ARM interest is 5.125%. Would it better to go for 6.75% mortgage refinance at no closing costs, if I am planning to live in the same house for next 7 to 10 years?

  12. I’ve seen that you can put down as low as 3% for a down payment on a home but I know it’ll cost more for monthly mortgage payments this way. How does refinancing a mortgage work? Would someone be able to put down 3% and then later on refinance to a better interest rate?

    Thanks!

  13. When you pay it off, is that called unfinancing, or what? And if you get a new mortgage later, is that called refinancing even though it’s a new mortgage? Are the terms and rates usually the same as normal refinancing?

  14. My gut answer to this is no. I tend to think that a refi on my home mortgage for 30 years to consolidate a 4 -5 year auto loan only extends my payments and in another 5 years or so I will have to get another auto. Would a 2nd mtg or line of credit for the auto loan be wiser?

  79. I have good credit (well over 700). The resale value of my 2004 Honda Civic is well above what I owe. I’m interested in refinancing to pull some money out to pay off a credit card bill. If I do refinance, how will this look on my credit? My husband and I are also interested in purchasing a new vehicle in the next few months and refinancing our home next year. Good idea to refinance my car?

  115. For a $150,000 loan. They are in their 3rd month of paying with too much interest. Would getting a 15 year fixed rate mortgage lessen the amount of interest paid? They want to pay the house as soon as they can, Monthly payments are roughly $1,130. How does it work?

  116. I need to get some home repairs done and have the option to refinance my mortgage at the same rate (6%) for 30yrs or go the Home Equity loan route with 7.85% for 15 years. Does anyone know if one option is better than the other in the long run?

  117. I understand equity is value you have built up in your home by making loan payments but why is it required to refinance? Is it because lenders want to see you are in the process of paying off the loan instead of simply refinancing frequently?

    Thanks
