I need to know this for my site, does Google weigh META descriptions? I believe I heard a few months back that Matt Cutts announced that they do not even look at META Descriptions at all for the rankings, but I could be wrong. Just curious!
I’m installing the Thesis theme for wordpress on my new blog and want to put a border around my content.
Reputed bloggers Matt Cutts (www.mattcutts.com) and Michael Gray (www.wolf-howl.com) both use the effect I’m interested in on their sites. It’s the black box border around the page and the padding away from the top and bottom that I’m after – exactly like they’ve done it.
Do I need to manually edit my custom css file or can I get this effect in the Thesis options somehow? Or even with openhooks perhaps? Bit of a newbie question but my tragically non-existent familiarity with Thesis means I can’t copy the effect without some detailed instructions from a smarter person please!
Do we know how Yahoo! and Bing are treating the meta keywords tag? Is it safe to omit it entirely finally? After all…content is king. Not keyword stuffing.
FYI – I already know about the Google comments with Matt Cutts at Google and how Google doesn’t factor this into web rank. I’m mainly concerned about how Yahoo! and Bing specifically treat this.

One of these quality guidelines, expressly prohibits, placing AdSense’s Ads in an IFRAME. I quote from Google AdSense Program Policies: “AdSense code may not be altered, nor may the standard behavior, targeting or delivery of ads be manipulated in any way that is not explicitly permitted by Google. This includes but is not limited to the following: clicking Google ads may not result in a new browser window being launched, nor may Google ads be placed in an IFRAME.” There is a website who Matt like very much (www metacafe com) who violates this thing. You can check this, viewing homepage source lines 481, 694, 731. So these quality guidelines are to be respected only for some websites, while others (Matt’s websites) may violate them.

ok so in my DREAM, it was a movie and sometimes i would watch it like a movie and sometimes i would be me In the movie. But the things were actually happening too!
Ok so there was this killer dressed all in black with a hood and red eyes. And they had to kill certain people. Well i was in Morrisons and Mat Le Blanc (Joey from Friends) was buying gerkins and suddenly his legs fell off and i did nothing to stop it! He died…=(
Then it started going after my family! I saved my mum because i pushed it into the swimming pool and stabbed it! Yippee…
But then it came after me and it turned out to be my best friend *Tina*! She was trying to stab me and all i had was a shield made out of a bin lid! She kept almost getting me and i couldnt fight back. The she cornered me in the kitchen up againsty the fridge and she was holding this HUGE saw which cutts thing’s in half. Then i screamed and all my friends and family rushed
in and talked for a bit and then i saw her grinning evily at me brandishing the saw so i screamed!
then it switched to movie view and i just saw me in a state of shock up against the fridge. then the camera moves slightly to see the saw had just missed me by like 1cm and had cut the cupboard door it half! Then Tina was like ogh the movies over and we made best friends again!?

Why is it that everyone says they answer more than they ask but we never run out of questions to answer?
Matt Cutts (of google) video’s seem to be the clearest and sharpest I’ve ever seen on the web. I’m trying to achieve the same results and format for the lowest price. What model camera does he use? What microphone does he use? What is his set up. See some of his videos and see what im talking about.

In FACT below is a LIST of all of the pages I have read; And since I did NOT see anything about “LINKS” & “LINKING” I went back through my browser history and re-visited these pages, and read them more carefully… AND NOPE, no mension of “LINKS” & “LINKING”
If I had read that, I wouldn’t habe NEEDED TO POST THE QUESTION in the first place.
So If you would be so kind as to point me to the page where it EXPLAINS about the fact that you CAN’T PUT A LINK IN A POST while you are a “Level 1” user.
And since I am “Obviously” a new user, and this is my “FIRST” question, I found your REPLY rather sharp and rather obtuse.

I am looking for help with back links. I am trying to find out whether it is better to always link to the front page (i.e domain) or to interior pages for specific keywords.
Which one provides the best return on investment (both time and money) for backlinks?
